How this site is made

A values site is only worth reading if you can trust the numbers and understand where the words came from. This page sets out how we do both. It is written for players, parents and anyone deciding whether to rely on us, and we keep it short on purpose.

Where the values come from

Every value, demand score, rarity score and stability tag on this site comes from a community trade data feed built from completed trades and ongoing consensus among active traders. We sync with that feed several times a day and rebuild the affected pages when something changes. We do not run our own panel and we do not average several lists together.

Some items are marked in the feed as estimated: priced by comparison to similar items rather than from an observed trade. We show an "Estimated value" badge on those pages instead of hiding it. Some items have no agreed value at all, and we show N/A rather than inventing a number.

What we will not change by hand

• We never edit a value up or down ourselves, for any reason, including our own opinion of what an item should be worth.
• We never accept payment, items or favours to list, promote or move an item. Nobody has ever been offered this option and nobody will be.
• We do not freeze numbers to make the list look finished. A frozen value list is a wrong value list.

What we do change by hand is the words: the notes on each category, the guides, the FAQs, and the way computed facts are phrased. Those are ours and we are responsible for them.

How the guides are written

Guides are written by people who trade in Murder Mystery 2 and have done for years, including getting scammed once or twice early on, which is how most traders learn. We write from that experience plus the live data: where a guide quotes a value or gives a worked example, the number is read from the feed when the page renders, so it matches the item pages instead of going stale. Where we state something about the game itself (how an item was obtained, how a tier came to be) and are not certain, we say so rather than dressing a guess up as fact.

Every guide carries the date it was first published and the date the body last changed. We only bump the updated date when the content actually changes, not for a typo or a rebuild. If a guide says it was updated in July, nothing meaningful has changed since July.

Item pages

Each item page combines three things: the live numbers from the feed; facts computed from how the item relates to the rest of the list (its rank in its tier, the stacks that trade evenly for it, its chroma or base counterpart); and hand-written notes for its category. We say plainly on each page when the value was last checked.

Items worth less than 1 (wrapping paper, old candies, most commons) have pages so the calculator and the category grids work, but we keep them out of search results because there is nothing on them a person would search for. The feed also lists some items twice under different tiers; we keep both pages and mark the second as a copy of the first.

Corrections

If a value looks wrong, we cannot change it on request (see above), but we can pass evidence upstream and we can fix anything we wrote. The most useful report has the item's exact name, what you think it should be, and roughly what you have seen it trade for. Screenshots of completed trades beat asking prices every time.

Mistakes in guides or notes get fixed as soon as we see them, and the bigger fixes are logged on the About page. Send anything to the contact page or [email protected].

Advertising

The site is free and is paid for by display advertising. Ads are served by a third party that has no idea what is on the page beyond the words, and no influence over any number. We do not run sponsored values, sponsored guides, or affiliate links to item sellers. We do not sell items, Robux or accounts, and we never will, because a values site that also sells the things it values is not a values site.

Ads are not shown on the chat or private-message pages. Details on data and cookies are in the privacy policy.

Independence

MM2 Values is a fan-made site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Roblox Corporation, Nikilis, or anyone who works on Murder Mystery 2. Item names and images are used to identify in-game items for the community's reference. There is no official MM2 value list, ours included.
